Little background: I am a mid 30's geek. I got into the dotcom boom back when annoying people with banners actually generated profit. Anyways, I recently dated a girl who was ten years younger than I am. While I've been into computers ever since I was a tubby little bastard in front of my Commodore 64, there is a distinct difference in the way people use computers, and especially the Internet, now than fifteen years ago. She almost entirely existed online and was honestly frustrated and confused by the disdain I showed her social networking addiction. She honestly could not understand why I was irritated when I would call her while at work to say hello and she was asleep at one in the afternoon from chatting all night over AOL Instant Messenger. She was also a master at clever photography angles and the concealment of armfat. Behind the computer she is a fit East Coast intellectual liberal with an insatiable libido. In real life she is an overweight small town Catholic girl who fucks like a dead fish. This show made me laugh, nod and shake my head sadly. Things are so different now and I can't say I like them much.
